Little Minds
Mrs. Ichijouji crossed the room to where her son, Ken, lay asleep in his playpen. In her eyes, he looked like a little angel, curled up among his toys. She reached down and stoked his fine hair.
"Time to wake up, honey. Mommy has your dinner ready." His eyes fluttered open. "Oh there's my big boy." Mrs. Ichijouji picked up her son and held him up where she could get a better look at him. "Did you enjoy your little nap?"
He stared back at her. Oh it you again. Why can't you ever just leave me alone? She bounced him in her arms.
"Come on, Ken, let's see what mommy has for dinner." Ken grabbed fist fulls of her shirt as she made her way to the kitchen.
Take it easy lady. Your gonna make me air sick.

No, not the chair! Anything but the chair!
"Oh come on, Ken, give mommy a break here."
Believe me lady, I'd like to but I'm just not strong enough yet. Mrs. Ichijouji finally got her son's arms and legs out of the way so she could lock down the table to his highchair. He glared at her.
Someday I'll get you for this. She wiped the sweat from her forehead.
"Phew, now that that's over with." She reached over the kitchen table, picked up a plastic toy frog and placed it in front of Ken. "Here, you play nicely with Mr. Frog while I go get your dinner." The boy and the frog just stared at each other for a moment.
Albert, it's about time you showed up. Quick, Albert, you have to help me think of a way out of here. The frog continued to stare at him. Come on, Albert. Don't just sit there, do something! It didn't move. Oh your useless. Mrs. Ichijouji was coming back with a plate full of food and a sippy cup of milk. Be quite, Albert. I don't want her to know what we just discussed.
"Here we go, Ken. I got nice peas, carrots and some mashed potatoes for you." She set the plate in front of him. "Doesn't that look yummy?"
What foul substance are you trying to feed me now? It smells gross. He turned up his nose.
"But it's good, Ken. Here, watch mommy." She picked up a chunk of carrot and popped it into her mouth. She chewed and swallowed quickly, then licked her lips. "Mmmmm... that was delicious, Ken. You should try some." She picked up another piece and held it out where he could reach it. He rolled his eyes.
Fine, anything to get you away from me. He grabbed the carrot from her and shoved it into his mouth. Ugh, how can you eat this stuff?
"Come on, Ken, swallow for mommy." He had to use all of his willpower to force it down his throat. He made a face.
Yuck!
"That a boy. Now you keep working on that while I get some food for me." Ken picked up his frog.
That women's trying to poison me. Look at her. She gets to enjoy the good things in life like that hamburger while I'm forced to eat this trash. Well I'll show her. And you, Albert, are going to help me. Ken held the frog high above his head and slammed it down into the food repeatedly. Mashed potatoes and peas flying everywhere. He then tore the lid off his sippy cup, letting the contents spill to the floor.
"Ken, what are you doing? You're a mess!" She ran over to the sink and wetted down a dish rag. "I swear, Ken, sometimes I wish I knew what was going on in that little mind of yours." She started washing his face.
I feel the same about you. It's so nice we can finally understand each other on something.
