Prologue

Clarisse la rue was pissed. Did they never stop? The idiot romans who, under a month ago had been firing at us with monsters. It sickened her to see them acting so friendly and sweet. Sheep, that's what the lot of them were she realised. They would follow whoever was in power without questioning authority. Mindless obedience. They'd come in and have no respect for the dynamics of camp, listening only to their praetors, ruining all the ideas of democracy in the Greek camp. And they said that Rome had invented democracy, yeah right.

That basically sums up her day so far, like the 22 other days the Romans had been here, not like she was counting or anything. Chiron had summoned her to the big house, and from what she had heard, he didn't sound too happy.

She finally reached it, and sat down to wait for Chiron. It wasn't long before he appeared.

"How are you today Clarisse?" Chiron asked.

"Fine, just like any other day" Clarisse sighed.

"I know that you don't like the Romans, but can you just try to get along please." Clarisse was shocked. She hadn't thought anyone realised. "But that is not what I called you here for. I have a request for help from a very old friend, and I thought that you were the perfect candidate for it. He wants you to teach weaponry to the students in his school." Chiron explained.

Clarisse was shocked. Why her? She realised that she had tuned out to the conversation and blamed her ADHD.

"It's a school for wizards in Scotland, and the wards should keep the monsters out" Chiron said. He had a smug expression that says 'I know you're going to say yes, so just hurry up and say it'.

"Wait, Wizards! Does that mean that all that magic stuff exists. I'll do it" Clarisse said eagerly.

"Thank you and yes all that 'magic stuff' exists, however spells will not hurt you. Here are 2 books that will explain it to you. Also, one more thing, wizards cannot see through the mist." he handed her two heavy books, with the title "The wizarding world: for Muggle Borns" and "Hogwarts: A history" He had a smug expression that says 'I know you're going to say yes, so just hurry up and say it'.

"I've said yes?" Chiron just stared at her.

" Fine I will."

Maybe it's time to succumb to my inner Annabeth...

"What's a muggle born?"

"You'll find that out."

"Ok. When do I leave?"

"In a couple of days. Also, they don't know about half bloods, so I've said that you're a squib- someone from a magical family, that doesn't have magic."

"See you tomorrow Chiron" Clarisse calls, her mood instantly dampening as a Roman walked into her.

"Mind where you're going Gracus!" He shouted angrily.

"Me! Your the one who walked into me said Clarisse as the Roman drew his sword. She pulled her electric spear out and the boy cowered.

"No fighting between the camps except from in the arena or capture the flags, remember?" The boy said sweetly, ignoring the fact that he pulled out his sword first. Clarisse bit back a reply and stalked off to her cabin, eager to read the new book Chiron had given her (not that she would admit it though).

Two days later, on the 31st of August, Clarisse was standing at the top of half-blood hill, waiting for Argus to pick her up. He finally arrived and Clarisse dumped her suitcases in the boot, got in and waited while he drove her to the airport.

Apart from a flight attendant attacking her (a dracane) and a passenger (a cyclops) trying to eat her, the flight was relatively smooth. She soon touched down in England and hired a taxi to take her to kings cross, where she crossed through the barrier and into the wizarding world for the first time...
