A/N: This is a rewriting of "The One Who Knocks " from Breaking Bad with Lucius, and Narcissa Malfoy. I was inspired by something I saw online where people were rewriteing this scene in the styles of different authors.
Lucius Malfoy crept softly across the lush carpet of his bedroom. He reached for his skull shaped mask as it gleamed in the moonlight.
"Lucius wait!" he had woken Narcissa.
"The mark is burning" he hissed "I have to go!"
She lurched out of bed, and grabbed his arm.
"When you sent me that owl yesterday" she said "I thought you felt bad about not being around much."
"I did" Lucius muttered.
"But there's more to it than that, isn't there" she pressed.
"No" he insisted "there isn't"
"You know what that letter looks like to me?" she asked.
"Narcissa"
"A goodbye Lucius, it looks like a goodbye."
He shifted his weight uncomfortably.
"People are dying" she continued.
"This is about the Selwyns isn't it?" he groaned.
"He eradicated half their family!"
"Darius disappointed him!"
"And you could too someday" she said softly "I need to know Lucius, are you safe? Are we safe? Is the baby safe?" she clutched her swollen stomach.
She was doing that face again, that anxious worried face, Lucius hated that face. He had to make her understand that he was strong, and dangerous. He paced angrily.
"You think I'm in danger Narcissa?" he fumed "I am the danger!, some weaklings wards are breached in the dead of night, and he winds up with a curse the the face, and you think that of me?"
He stared right into her startled eyes, and shouted "I BREACHED HIS WARDS!"
Lucius Malfoy stormed out of the room. The mark was still burning. He might be late. He couldn't afford to be late.
