Why can't I love my Raven? thoughtStarfire as she lay in her bed upside down.
Is it not right for me to love her? Why is loving her wrong? Earth ways are so weird. As this last revelation came t her, Starfire decided to go to the Mall of Shopping an find out why her love was wrong.
I love the Mall of Shopping, there is nothing like it back on Tamaran.
As Star walked into the book store she saw the dark object of her obsession and reason for being in the Borders store of books. Raven was in the section of books Starfire most adored, the children's books.
"Raven..?" Starfire whispered to no one in particular.
Starfire walked around behind her Raven an peeked over book shelf and said, "Why friend Raven, what are you doing here?"
Starfire saw Raven's whole body tense up. Slowly Raven turned and looked up, "I'm ummm… Well you see I uh… nothing."
What is Star doing here? Is she onto me? I hope not, thought Raven as she looked at the smiling Starfire.
"Nothing… Okay! Would you like to do the 'hanging out' with me instead of nothing?" Stafire's heart raced. Did she just ask Raven to 'hang' with her?
Please don't let my Raven suspect anything.
"Oh, umm… Okay," raven nearly died when she said this. She, Raven, was going to be with her Starfire!
Please, Azar, don't let me do anything to make Starfire hate me. Please.
As shocked as Raven was that she said yes to Starfire is nothing compared to how shocked Starfire herself was.
Starfire mentally shook herself out of shock. She grabbed Raven's hand and dragged her to the store next to Borders.
Star drug Raven straight into the Hot Topic store. Raven was glad that they hadn't gone into the clothing store across the food court, it was nothing but pink.
Oh man, look at all the pretty colors, thought Starfire as she looked at the Clair's store across the food court. I hope Raven is happy here, but look at all those colors.
As she picked up a pair of coal black pants with half-a-dozen pockets and three belts, Raven noticed Stafire's gaze at the hideous pink store.
With a big huff Raven told Starfire to wait a second while she paid for the black pants. When she came back Raven took hold of Starfire's arm and started dragging her around the food court.
"Raven, where are we going," Starfire asked Raven.
"Well, ummm… I saw you looking at that store over there and thought you might like to go," Raven replied while dragging Starfire.
Starfire stopped abruptly causing Rave to accidentally pull on her arm.
"You thought I… oh thank you Raven!"
As Starfire said this she went to hug Raven but stopped as Raven closed her eyes and winced.
Starfire was heartbroken that Raven didn't like her hugs. She slowly let her arms drop to her sides.
Raven opened her eyes and looked at her downcast friend. Oh man now I made Star sad.
"Starfire, are you okay?"
Starfire looked at raven, "Yes I am okay… No actually I want to go home, I… I need to lie down."
When star got home she was so sad and depressed about Raven not liking her, or so she thought, that she couldn't fly to her room.
When her door opened up she flung herself to the unoccupied bed.
As Starfire lay crying on her bed Raven teleported in an dropped her Hot Topic bag then ran to Starfire's crying body. Raven stopped an knelled on Starfire's bed next to the crying alien. Raven did the only thing she could think of, she leaned over and lifted the crying girl to her shoulder.
Starfire finally stopped crying and realized what was happening, Raven was hugging her. Raven Roth was hugging her Koriand'r and comforting her. She pulled away from Raven an eyed her quizzically.
The girls just stared at each other. Violet eyes stared into emerald eyes.
The space between the girls slowly disappeared as they leaned in for a kiss. As their lips brushed together Starfire thought to herself, Why can't I?
