Okay, so this would not leave my head! I just had to write it down, and although it's not directly Eclare, it's definitely implied. Drianca too. Anywho, I know cheapnovelty87 did a wonderful cartoon of this scene, but I swear the whole idea went through my head as well after watching the episode, and I just wanted to write a little one shot about it.
I hope you enjoy this, and I don't own.
She waited at her locker with her arms crossed, shuffling impatiently.
Hurry up Dr. Doom.
She caught him sneaking around the corner, mysterious and intimidating, like a bat.
"You got it?" she asked him. Quick. Sharp.
"You got the stuff?" he drawled lowly, quirking his eyebrow and pulling the IDs out of his back pocket between his index and middle finger.
"Shut up," she smirked, hitting his shoulder playfully.
They were fast. Had to be fast. She'd texted him during class, meet me in 5 by my locker with it, and here they were. She'd used the bathroom excuse. She wondered what excuse he'd used, but thought better than to ask.
She reached to grab them, but he nicked his fingers back slightly.
"What happened to 'trying to be a better Bianca'?" he smiled coyly, pulling back even further.
"What happened to 'I'm retired'?" she glowered, snatching the IDs from him.
He smiled sadly, as if he pitied her.
"You never really leave. Anyways, anything to help a friend."
She relented slightly. "It's important."
He nodded. She liked the arrangement they had. He gave her what she needed. Didn't ask questions. Didn't burden her with anymore pain. Listened, but never gave advice.
She thought of the heated kisses they'd shared, just for a moment. It started out of nowhere, and crumbled just as quickly. She had a hard time remembering if they were real at all.
That one time she pulled him into her car after everyone's visit to Jake's cabin. That other time his hand slithered up her shirt in the school parking lot.
She realized he was her only friend. And how fucked up was that?
They stopped whatever it was they had going on. Fights, grim faces and angry words were a strange way to start a friendship, but it worked perfectly for them.
She looked over the cards. "You really are a pro at this," she said.
He managed to let a real smile cross his features. She pulled a couple of bills from her pocket, but he held up his hand in refusal.
"Better get to class," he answered gruffly. Not thank you. Never thank you. That was only said after they fucked, and since they weren't doing that anymore, they found other ways.
"Fuck off," she smiled. Not that she knew him when he first came to Degrassi, but she was suddenly aware of how much he'd changed. How much they both had changed.
"Same to you," he smirked, sauntering off quiet as the night.
"Do you still love her?" she asked suddenly, making him stop.
"Be careful," he called, gesturing towards the IDs in her hand.
She realized then how much he hadn't changed. She could've sworn she heard his voice laced with unspoken threats - towards Drew, towards her actions, towards love - she didn't know.
"You too," she said, but when she looked back up, he was gone.
Review lover? ;)
