Stan's Monologue

By Shadowgate

Stan Marsh took the stage at the South Park Community Theater a month after being grounded. His audience consisted of Kyle, Kenny, Eric, Wendy, Clyde, and Craig.

"Lights please, tonight I stand before you as someone who is known as a leader in my group of four but also as someone who has landed in trouble over the past year."

Stan stopped and guzzled from his water bottle.

"Now moving forward I've no doubt the whole school is aware that I've just finished a month of being grounded for sneaking out."

"Why did I do it? I wanted to have an adventure overnight and sleep during the day."

Kyle, Kenny, and Rick laughed. Wendy was irritated and Craig and Clyde scoffed.

Stan tried not to hang his head in shame. "It's said 'follow the rules' and you won't get in trouble. Well in theory yes but humans make mistakes and Cartman makes mistakes."

Cartman gives Stan a dirty look. Kyle and Kenny laugh.

"The reality is parents set curfews. The reality is the government sets curfews but the government but the government does not love children."

Clyde whispered to Craig "so true" and Craig said "shh."

Stan took a deep breath then said "Many of my decisions in life have been good. I'm a leader on sports teams. Kenny I was there for you when you had your cheesing problem. Kyle I was there for you when your grandma died. Wendy I love you so much and my goal is to improve on being there for your more."

Wendy smiled and hoped Stan would live up to all that he would say on the stage.

Stan went on to say "also there have been many times when my friends have been there for me. That includes the great times but also the time when I've messed up. Recently I got in trouble for sneaking out. Then before that there was a time I went across state lines to be with Cartman's family against the wishes of my own. Oh was that a trip!"

"In the end I've found that your friends will stand by you when you mess up. I've also found that your true friends will hold you accountable for your actions. Kyle please come up here."

Kyle walks up on stage and hugs Stan.

Stan turns to the rest of the audiences and says "I'm open to your comments."

Clyde replied "I hope you learned a lesson. Oh and Stan it sucks not to have a mom let me tell you."

Cartman jumped on the stage and said "well Stan it's nice to hear you admit you're human and you make mistakes. I guess I'm not human."

Stan said "Cartman I should not have used this moment to rip on you. I've been there for you. When you cried tears over the assignment on what we wanted to be when we grew up I was there for you. When you were put in prison on that trumped up hate crime I was there for you."

Stan hugs Cartman.

Cartman replied "thank you Stan."

Kenny walked up on to the stage and said "I know that you and Kyle are super best friends forever but I feel like your brother and sidekick. You can always count on me."

Kenny hugs Stan.

Craig and Wendy were the last two to walk up on stage. Wendy and Stan made out.

After they were done Craig said "Stan this speech was truly noble."

Kyle said "hey I make noble speeches to."

Everyone said "KYLE NO" at once.
