Chloe Sullivan the…oh to hell with this: nothing rhymes with that.

Disclaimer: If i owned Smallville it'd be cancelled by now.

A/N random prequel to Lana the Llama and the rest in the series. Makes less sense than the others. Oh ty to whoever it was that suggested the title, apologies for forgettign who it was.

Chloe Sullivan was going to lead an interesting life: she was going to have dreams of becoming a top class reporter, she was going to fall into unrequited love with an alien, she was going to assume the identity of her best friend and then land in an alternate dimension where she looked like aforementioned aliens mother. Of course she didn't know this yet, because at the moment it's 1992 and Chloe Sullivan has yet to even hear of Smallville Kansas. At the moment she's a little girl troubled by her mother's strange behaviour and even more troubled by elementary school mathematics. She knows she shouldn't be troubled by maths this simple, because she's a smart girl and she knows she wouldn't be if she hadn't fallen asleep in class but she had and that was that.

The sun had been slanting in through the window by her desk warming her through and she'd just felt so comfortable that she'd drifted off easily. She'd had the strangest dream while she'd been asleep as well that didn't' really make sense: there'd been a lot of glowing green rocks in it and far too much time with a beautiful but incredibly annoying raven haired woman. It had started off quite normally: there had been a woman that looked a lot like she imagined she would when she'd grown up and she was doing exciting things like running from explosions. Then there had been the good-looking man who seemed to have his shirt off for almost all of the time doing amazing things and kissing the annoying woman. Then it had all been the annoying woman, she couldn't really remember what happened here, but it was if the whole dream suddenly started revolving around her for no reason. Then the woman had disappeared and there'd been a Llama in a hat, a shark, some meat and a character from a TV show and book that Chloe was really too young and too American to recognise and that was it: she woke up with no idea how to do maths.

It had been, altogether a strange day and as she went home, detention slip in hand, she couldn't help feeling relieved for some reason, that nothing rhymed with the name Chloe and that she lived in Metropolis and not a small Kansas town.

Meanwhile, in a town called Smallville a small boy, about Chloe's age by the name of Shane Babbage was having a much stranger day: he'd just turned into a cabbage and he had no idea of why. Though, in his last moments as a human, he was overcome with the urge to create something called a Ghloe.
