Ron had cheated on her, again! She was getting so fed up with him. Did he even deserve to be her friend? He certainly didn't deserve to be her boyfriend. Hermione had so many emotions boiling up inside of her all at once. She didn't want to make Ginny infuriated at her, but surely she would agree her brother was being a complete jerk.
A month ago, Hermione had caught Ron snogging Lavender Brown in the library. How repulsive! It was a library after all. He had confessed afterwards that he had been under a love potion. She being the gullible person she was, trusted him and they continued on with their relationship like nothing had happened, but yet here we are again, she thought.
She didn't know whether to scream at him then or there or run away. She didn't have enough steam in her to yell at him. She actually felt rather unhappy with herself that she didn't have a better judgement. Or was she just not good enough for him to want to snog the face off of Lavender Brown of all people.
Hermione fled from the scene of her former boyfriend snogging that nasty pig in a broom closet. The nerve! After she was a good distance away, she let the tears fall. Bleary-eyed from all the tears streaming down her face, she rounded the corner and ran straight into someone's chest.
"I..I'm s-sorry," she stammered, sobbing. She bent down to pick the books up she had sent flying.
"It's fine," a very familiar voice said rather blunt, bending down to pick up the rest of his books.
Hermione gathered up all the owner's books, and tried to pick the last one up when her and the owner of the book's hand brushed hers for the slightest second.
Blushing she said, "I can get that. It was me who made you drop your books anyways."
She picked the book up, and as both of them tried to get back up, they bumped heads in the process.
"Sorry, again," she said sincerely.
"Sorry," the stranger said while rubbing his head. He looked up to see who had run into him. "Granger?"
"Malfoy?" She replied just as baffled as he was.
"Why were you crying?" He asked almost sympathetically.
"Why do you care? You'll just make fun of me and call me a dumb Mudblood."
"Let me guess, Weaselbee?" He said ignoring her earlier comment.
"Yes, the dumb git cheated on me again."
"You mean this has happened before?"
"Yes, Malfoy that's why I said it happened again, which means that it has already happened in the past," she said sarcastically while rolling her eyes.
"I know Granger I'm not stupid, but I didn't ask for an English lesson. I'm trying my hardest to be sympathetic here."
"I'm sorry, it's just… apparently I'm no good to anyone," she said starting to tear up again. " No one will ever truly love me. They just take advantage of me. I'm just a stupid Mudblood," she said wretchedly.
"Hey, don't say that," he said putting his hands on top of her shoulders. "You're not a stupid Mudblood," he said reassuring her.
She sniffed and looked up at him, "Really?"
"Yes, really," he said giving her a smile. He put his arm around her shoulders. "Why don't you tell me all about that idiot," he said walking with her through the Halls of Hogwarts. She nodded.
He didn't notice at first that he let her cry on his shoulder as if he had been her boyfriend. Well it didn't matter now, after all he's let her cry on his shoulder multiple times, and she's let him do the same. After all, isn't that what couples are supposed to do?
The End!!
