WretchedOne's Blabberings:
Listening to Sarah McLachlan singing "Merry Christmas (War is Over)" off her album "Wintersong" got me to thinking. When I heard that first line, "So this is Christmas", it made me think of someone who had just seen Christmas for the first time, and is saying "ah, so that's what it's about". And that made me think of the Andalites, to whom all of human culture is strange and different. So i decided to write a song from an Andalite's point of view about the various aspects of human culture that he/she finds different from his/her own. And I did. I wrote the animorphs-inspired lyrics and put them to John Lennon's original music. Hope you like it. -WO
To the tune of "Merry Christmas (War is Over)" By John Lennon and Yoko Ono
Pleased To Meet You
So this is beauty
Well, I wouldn't know
I don't think your standards
Are the same as my own
So this is honour
Well from what I see
Doesn't look like you hold it
In very high esteem
Please don't judge me
I won't judge you
I just want to understand
Why you do what you do
So this is expression
Of limitless love
Simple words of affection
Don't seem to be enough
To you what's contentment
Fulfillment of life
Who would you die for
For what would you fight
Please don't judge me
I won't judge you
I just want to understand
Why you do what you do
Won't you help me
See things through your eyes
Open your heart to me
And I'll open mine.
