Disclaimer: I don't own Harry Potter and the others.

Harry Potter and the Dursleys were sitting in the kitchen, eating an early dinner. They were watching the news on Dudley's T.V. in the kitchen. They'd reported many attacks and murders lately. The Dursleys, like many of the other muggles, thought it was just some sort of gang violence. But Harry knew better. It was a war. The war between good and evil. And he had to fight in it. There was no doubt in that. There was a prophecy saying he had to murder him or he'll get murdered by him. The time was coming. Pretty soon, Harry Potter would have to fight Lord Voldemort.

As always, Harry was being ignored by his family. An owl flew through the window and a letter dropped in front of Harry's plate. The writing on the parchment was Dumbledore's. The time had come.

"How many times have I told you I don't want to see any of  your kind around here?" Uncle Vernon glared. Harry ignored him. He was too busy reading the letter. When Harry looked up, all of the Dursleys were looking at him. It was as if he had interrupted their T.V. watching or something. Harry stood up.

"So what did it say?" Uncle Vernon said rudely.

"I have to go," Harry replied. He ran upstairs, went into his room, and grabbed his essentials. When he went downstairs, he found all of the Dursleys still staring at him. Harry walked over to the table next to Aunt Petunia. He bent down so he could be face to face with her. She suddenly turned her head down to her food, while Dudley and Uncle Vernon watched him.

"Aunt Petunia, I know I've been a pain ever since I got here. I'm sorry for everything I've done to hurt you. Thank you for taking care of me, taking me in…like a son. Thank you for protecting me…. But that protection has worn off and now I have to face what's ahead of me. I love you Aunt Petunia." Harry kissed her on the cheek and stood up. He looked over at Dudley, who looked him straight in the eyes.

"Thanks Dudley. For the bedroom… And for toughening me up too." Harry smiled and Dudley did too. Harry faced Uncle Vernon.

"Uncle Vernon, thank you. I know I'm not family at all, but thanks for taking me in."

Harry began to walk towards the door. The Dursleys stared at his retreating figure. Before he reached the door, he looked at them all and said "Good-bye" then turned the doorknob and left.

Over an hour later, the Dursleys looked up from their dinner to the T.V. where there was breaking news. They were watching an area that was damaged so much that all news coverage could only be by air. The scene they were watching was horrendous. It looked as if there had been a huge explosion. Over the scenes a voice could be heard…

"Just a couple of minutes ago, there had been, we think, some sort of explosion. We don't have any information on what has occurred, but we do know many people have been injured. There was only one dead body found. He has been identified as Harry Potter." Aunt Petunia gasped. Dudley dropped his fork.

"We have some video of the scene just before the explosion occurred. The man there is believed to be Harry Potter."

Then on the screen came an aerial image of Harry facing another large figure. Harry looked very injured. He pointed something at the large man and shouted "THIS IS FOR MY FAMILY!"

Sparks flew out of the thing he was holding. Harry fell to the ground. The tall figure laughed and pointed something at Harry. He screamed something, though it was mumbled. It sounded like Abra Cadabra. Then more sparks flew from the thing the man was holding, and the entire street blew-up.

Uncle Vernon then turned the T.V. off and tried to comfort Petunia. Dudley was frozen silent. You could hear Aunt Petunia crying and sobbing, "We love you too, Harry. We love you too."
