As the teams were then headed for their next challenge. Duncan grabbed Zoey's shoulder and said, "We need to talk." Zoey at first accused Duncan of trying to form an alliance while Mike was in exile. Zoey knew something was going on with Mike, but she didn't know what exactly. This made her slowly lose interest in him. Duncan then said that when he was in juvie, Mal, Mike's true form was with him. Zoey started to believe him after short talk. Zoey didn't know why, but she slowly started getting feelings for Duncan while Mike was Mal. As Duncan was talking she put a hand on his shoulder. As they finished talking Zoey said, "Thanks for telling me." She then placed her hand under Duncan's chin and said, "You're so thoughtful and considerate." Duncan couldn't help but blush a little afterwards. During the challenge, Mal was faced agianst Izzy. Zoey heard the name Mal, she and Duncan then gasped in horror. Zoey then offically dumped Mike/Mal by saying "MAL, IT'S OVER!" in an angry voice. Duncan said, "Yes!" in a quiet voice. He thought the redheaded indie chick was hot. He quickly grew a crush on her after being dumped by Gwen. He was happy after she had given him an apple an episode earlier. At the elimination ceremony, Zoey was crying over the loss of Mike. Duncan then hugged her and finally accepted that he was a better person. Zoey said, "Duncan!" Duncan was confused about why there was a little anger in her voice. Zoey then said, "Duncan, we are only friends!" Duncan then replied, "That's what friends are for." Duncan then went into the forest and found some roses to comfort a crying Zoey. Duncan walked up to Zoey and said, "I got these to cheer you up." As Duncan was blushing ferocouisly, Zoey then hugged him passionatley. "You're the best friend ever!" she said. Duncan then said, "How about we talk about that later tonight." Zoey replied saying, "No, I'm still upset about Mike." A tear then went down Duncan's cheek. Zoey then wiped the away the tear from Duncan's cheek. "OK Duncan." ,She then said. With that Duncan stopped crying and said, "Thank you 'Zo." Later than night, the two met by the fire and sat next to each other. Zoey put a hand on Duncan's shoulder while they talked. "Why did you want to talk about us?" ,Zoey asked. Duncan said, "I am all alone by myself, without my friends." Zoey was starting to get over Mike, but she didn't know Duncan liked him back. Duncan couldn't help but tear up a bit. Zoey started tearing up too. They then hugged each other. Zoey was also lonely, like she was as a child. She could empathize with Duncan about how he was feeling. Zoey then stopped crying, and said, "Thank you." With that she then kissed Duncan on the cheek and left. She had left a surprised and blushing Duncan. The next morning, Zoey offered Duncan another green apple. This time instead of taking it, He leaned in to kiss Zoey. The two then decided to skip the challenge and spend quality time with each other. They didn't care about elimination at this point, they were happy together. When they were together Chris didn't notice they were missing until the end of the challenge. At the end of the challenge Duncan volunteered for elimination and lied to Chris that he was the only one who skipped, not Zoey. As Zoey was stroking his chest, she then said, "Thank you, again" She then grabbed Duncan's faced and kissed him. Leaving Duncan smiling. And with that Duncan was a better person, and had Zoey as a girlfriend.
