Dean felt something whack his head from behind. The hunter spun around and saw the wraith creature was coming in for another hit. He stuck his knife into the creature's stomach and twisted as he received another blow to the head. Before Dean slipped into unconsciousness, he felt the shock of the cold water as he fell in.
Sam sprinted down the path to the dock where his brother had just fallen in. "No! Dean!" He hopped over the supernatural fugly's body and jumped in to the lake.
Through the murky water, Sam could see Dean's body slowly sinking to the lake bottom. His strong arms paddled through the water until he could just grab Dean's leg and pulled him closer so he could lock his arm around his sibling's chest.
Sam pushed to the water's surface and swam toward the bank. The younger man heaved his brother out of the water and crawled across the dry land, dragging Dean with him. A gash on the older brother's head was bleeding. Sam shivered from the cold and his limbs were becoming numb. He noticed one vital thing; Dean wasn't breathing.
