A/N: So after writing four chapters of this story, I decided it could do with a prologue. The next chapter is Teddy's first year at Hogwarts. The first three chapters are in Teddy's POV, and after that, it'll switch between Victoire and Teddy's points of view. So yeah, that's all I've got. Thank you for your time, and please review!
I was almost to my normal compartment when running footsteps sounded behind me. I glanced over my shoulder to discover Teddy.
"What are you doing here?" I asked as he caught up to me.
"Just, hold on a sec," he requested, catching my wrist.
"Teddy, I'm going to miss the train," I replied. Pan, my pet fox, blinked up at him through the bars of his cage.
"You didn't say goodbye," he protested.
"Goodbye," I said, well aware that people were staring at us. I wasn't sure if it was because of Teddy's turquoise hair, my family, or the Head Girl badge I had pinned to my Hearts on Fire shirt.
"Goodbye," he repeated, his voice much softer than mine had been. He ran one hand through my hair and cradled the back of my head before he kissed me. It was soft at first like a proper goodbye kiss, but then he let go of my wrist to wrap his arm around my waist and tug me forward so I was pressed inappropriately close to him. I wanted to scold him for several things, specifically snogging me in public, and also snogging me inappropriately in public, but instead my arms wrapped themselves around his neck and he pressed me back against one of the columns on the platform. I decided, since this was the last kiss and all, that I could stand to let him nibble softly on my bottom lip and run his tongue over mine even though we were in public.
"What are you doing?"
The jarring noise belonged to James, who was staring at us with his head cocked sideways like a puppy, his glasses starting to fall off.
"I'm seeing her off," Teddy said, glowering at him. "Now piss off."
James scampered away. I couldn't see a possible way for that to end well, namely because James was bound to tell someone in the family and then it would get back to my parents who would suddenly wonder why I'd spent so much time at Teddy's over the summer, which would inevitably lead to my father locking me in an ivory tower and my mother giving me a lengthy lecture about appropriate contraception and also, because it was my mother, which positions were the best.
"I have to go," I said, extricating myself from Teddy's arms and reacquiring my trunk and Pan's cage.
"But," he started to protest.
"I'm Head Girl, Teddy," I said. "I can't spend the entire term snogging you on the platform. In public."
He glanced around as though just realising there were other people. He looked so dejected and sad I almost felt bad. Well, no, I did feel bad, but I had to go.
"Fine," he said finally, looking at his feet.
"Bye," I said, climbing onto the train.
I didn't watch him disapparate.
