AN: Here, have some Theonor!
Disclaimer: I own nothing.
It wasn't often that she fell. She was strong, stubborn. She had more courage and confidence than nearly everyone he knew.
And he absolutely loved that about her.
She didn't take anything from anyone, while he sat and took in every battery and insult that was thrown his way. 'Fat', 'stupid', a 'pig'.
She loved herself and everything about her, while he often feared the opinions of others about his weight.
She was outgoing, while he was shy. They both loved to make friends, but it seemed like she had a much easier time doing it.
He adored her.
She took care of him, treated him the way she would want him to treat her. She was loving, kind, compassionate.
She would stand up for him, defend him against their attacks. She would hold him in her arms, love him, soothe him.
Eleanor Miller didn't need a man to protect her. She would much rather protect her man.
But he couldn't do the same for her.
At least, not on any other day than those rare occasions that she fell.
It was hard, being the oblivious little sweetheart, to be there for her through thick and thin. To be there for her when she needed a shoulder to cry on, when she needed a hand to hold.
Eleanor Miller never fell. Eleanor Miller never cried. Eleanor Miller never let anything get to her.
Eleanor Miller lied.
Sometimes she did fall, sometimes she even cried. Sometimes things would get to her.
And when those seldom occurrences came along, he would be there for her. Through thick and thin.
He would be her hero, without even trying.
The smile in his eyes as he held her hand, the cheerful air to his voice as he soothed her and told her everything would be alright. The way he wrapped his arms around her.
They showed her that she didn't always have to be the hero. She didn't always have to be the one to protect him. She didn't always have to be his knight, his hero.
She could stand on her own two feet. She could stand on her feet for him, too. She could be strong enough for the both of them.
But she didn't always have to be.
Because even heroes fall, even knights can lose a battle.
Theodore couldn't protect her from the people that had hurt her. But he could protect her from the feelings battling inside of her. The anger, the frustration.
He could take her mind off of all of that.
He could be her hero, too.
