I had seen her around before. She was beautiful, with red hair that surrounded her face and matched her freckles. She had vibrant green eyes, that made you stare when you walked past. She knew she was beautiful, and she showed it off with short skirts and tank tops. She was way out of my league.

...

We were throwing a party in Slytherin dorm. There was no reason for a party, but we never have a reason for throwing parties. I knew Lily was coming. She was a Gryffindor, but she would never miss a party.

...

When she got there, she started flirting with all the guys. They fell for her instantly like I had, but she payed them no further attention. I kept an eye on her, just in case she got too close to the wrong guy. If I couldn't have her, at least I could protect her.

...

Hours into the night, she had danced with practically every guy that showed up. There was a guy that kept eying her and he made me nervous. He walked up to her and squeezed her arse, making her jump. She whipped around and he pressed his mouth to hers harshly. I jumped up, despite everyone crowding them. I pulled him off her and started throwing punches. If I wasn't a good fighter, I would be in the hospital.

...

She left without thanking me, of course. Maybe she was still scared. I don't blame her, but I would've liked just one dance.

...

I've noticed she dresses up less, and wears sweatshirts almost every day. She looks even more beautiful when she isn't flaunting. She's not wearing make up, and she wears her hair up, magnetizing the natural glow of her beauty. I think she's scared, now. I'm going to talk to her today for the first time.

...

When I approached her, she immediately thanked me. I told her it was no problem and she hugged me. I hugged her back, of course, the softness of her skin to mine made me smile. When she pulled back, she explained that her parents were outside and I should meet them. I got nervous, but I agreed.

...

When I went outside, standing in front of me was Harry Potter, my dads old enemy, the one that saved the wizarding world. he shook my hand and asked my name. Scorpius Malfoy, I said. His expression became unreadable and he took Lily's arm and they left. She left and mouthed 'I'm sorry'.

...

I sent her a letter that said I had fallen in love with her, and that I wanted her to be my girlfriend. I send her dad a letter about how I don't want my last name to influence his thoughts about me, and that I want to date his daughter.

...

The next day at school, Lily confronted me. She told me that she talked her dad into not hating me. I asked what it meant, and she said that we could date. I smiled and hugged her, picking her up off the ground. I finally got what I wanted.
