Osaka's Braces
Disclaimer- No, I don't own Azumanga Daioh.
Foreword- A really short little skit a friend and I were planning on doing for a convention, but never got around to it. It's funny actually.
OSAKA'S BRACES
Osaka is sitting in her chair, for once the first girl in the group to arrive at school, her mouth glued shut. Chiyo happily skips into the room, her bag swinging beside her.
"Good morning Osaka!" Said Chiyo perkily. Osaka smiles and waves, mouth still shut, "Did you remember to get your permission slip signed?" Chiyo asked. Osaka nodded, mouth STILL shut.
"...are you okay? You're not talking." Said Chiyo, looking at her friend curiously. Osaka shook her head.
"Can you talk?" Chiyo asked.
Osaka shook her head.
"I know! Let's play charades! You can tell me what's wrong with you." Said Chiyo, clapping her hands eagerly.
Osaka nodded and stood up, holding up three fingers.
"Three words."
Osaka held up one finger.
"First word."
Osaka pointed to her eye.
"Eye...I!" Said Chiyo, smiling.
Osaka nods, holding up two fingers.
"Second word."
Osaka holds out her hands, acting like she was receiving something.
"Receive? No...gift? No...got? Got!"
Osaka nodded happily, holding up three fingers.
"Third word." Said Chiyo, psyched that she was winning.
Osaka tapped her nose.
"Sounds like..."
Osaka pointed to her face.
"Face...place? No...pace? No..brace? Brace!" Said Chiyo, wondering what this had to do with Osaka not talking.
Osaka nodded, motioning, telling her that she's on the right track.
"Brace...braces!" Said Chiyo, jumping up and down.
Osaka nods and smiles with her mouth open, revealing her new braces with pink bands. "I look stupid don I?" Said Osaka, sulking.
"No, but I feel sorry for ya. Do they hurt?" Asked Chiyo, looking at Osaka sympathetically.
"A TON!" Said Osaka, wincing.
"That stinks. Are you going to surprise the others like me?" Said Chiyo, somewhat worriedly.
"You bet!" Said Osaka, grinning.
"Oh no..." Said Chiyo, watching as Tomo and Yomi walked through the door. Osaka ran over to them with her mouth firmly shut, waving.
