Surprises

Little surprises

General Hammond was feeling puzzled. Granted in his line of work with all of the scientists running around his base that was to be expected, but this situation certainly wasn't expected.

He couldn't say that it was surprising when there was an "Unscheduled Off-world Activation", or when it turned out to be SG1 returning before there scheduled time, he couldn't even say he was surprised when an exasperated archaeologist by the name of Daniel Jackson and a stoic Jaffa by the name of Teal'c stepped through the gate alone. He could however, say he was surprised when the pre-for mentioned archaeologist handed him two sets of dog tags.

At first he began to worry that the other two members of his front line team had fallen in battle during there very short mission to P4X-647, but after observing the Doctors childish stomping of his feet down the ramp and frustrated looks of the two members already accounted for, he decided this was highly unlikely.

"Dr Jackson, where are Colonel O'Neill and Major Carter?"

"Please don't ask" he muttered.

"I just did Doctor Jackson" before Daniel could so much as breathe a word of the situation the two missing members appeared through the gate.

He wasn't completely sure he saw any change in the Jaffa's face. But after 5 years of working with the walking emotional straight jacket when there was the slightest upwards twitch of the guys lips it was hard to go unnoticed. Daniel to put it lightly was also feeling a little uncomfortable with their display, so he was pretty sure that his and carter's actions were definitely getting a reaction from there team mates. But to be totally honest…after five long years with nothing, having Carters legs wrapped firmly around his waist to keep her self up and his hands plastered to her hips- also to keep her up -he found it very difficult to feel any disappointment especially when her fingers where doing such sweet things in his hair.

After a few more minutes of adding up the pro's and cons of the situation he decided that the shocked look on General Hammonds face as he and Carter remerged from the wormhole and announced there immediate resignation from the Air force before continuing with there earlier activity was definitely a pro.

He briefly wondered if he could get a copy of the gate room's security video before his brain was completely consumed by the need to ravish his former second in command. He decided he'd worry about it later.
