Loyalty.

The definition, for me, isn't so black and white.

Sometimes you'd have to betray for devotion.

It's a complex thing that many can't comprehend.

Yet it's a paradox that everyone can understand.

To Whom it May Concern:

You stand there, crumbling to pieces, and I know it.

You stand there, silencing your hardships, and I hear it.

You stand there, being weak, and I see it.

To Whom it May Hurt:

I want to, more than anything, sooth your being.

I want to, no matter how exerting, pull you from the shadows.

I want to, knowing you'll never be the same again, be strong regardless.

To Whom it May Exasperate:

She walks as fragile as glass and my fists clench.

She breathes and I grind my teeth to calm murderous intentions.

She looks at you in that way and I want to vomit.

She talks and I feel like a snake is wrapping around my neck.

She smiles and I can only fathom the spell she has you under.

To Whom it May Save:

Please listen,

Even if I don't always know what's best

I don't want you to fall,

because I'm so afraid I won't be able to catch you.

To Whomever:

It can't be the way it used to be.

Not now, not ever again.

Our bond might be strained;

but whether you know it or not,

I'll always remain rooted by your side.

Even if you're hurting me --

I can't stop caring.

Even if I will never grasp that notion --

that she loves the slightest bit of you.

Even if you'll go too far, beyond my reach --

I won't stop chasing.

Even if she doesn't deserve you --

You'll always be next to her with your heart.

Even if you don't deserve me --

I'll always be behind you with my life.

She'll never have the dedication

that I had

and I will always have

for you.
