The sun shines on the dew soaked field
The first note echoes in their ear
The war has begun
82 tired feet take the field
They step as one
Pausing as the sun beats down on their faces
The war has begun
They know what to do
They have done it so many times they quickly loose count
Steps, music, and nervousness run through their head
The war has begun
As the note quickly lingers in the ears of the warriors they know what to do
Can they remember it
Every thing is the same
Only this time it's different
The music continues
The warriors grow tired
Still they must stay strong
The war must go on
They all want one thing
The chance to be the best
Will they ever get it
Time will only say
The war go on
As the last note is played
The last step is taken
The last breath is taken
It's over
The ringing of notes
The tap of drums
Echo through their hearts
The war was all to fast
5 minutes may not seem to long
But for these warriors they know what they want
They want to be the best
They want to be at the top
The war is over
Night quickly calls on the young warriors
The sun goes down on their war
Will they finally be at the top
Names of others ring in their ears
Why can't it be them
Their name is called
A smile quickly grows
As the warriors hear their name
The cheer and cry
They have reached the top
Finally their dream is here
What they all want
The war may be over
But these people may soon never forget
The faithful afternoon when they reached the top
The night is young
The stars shine bright
The war is done
The war is done
A memory to echo in a warriors heart
A day
A minute
No..... forever
The war is done
The war is done
