Prologue
Dwarves were not beautiful creatures.
They were dark, misshapen beings that resided beneath rock and earth.
They were viewed as the unfortunate contrast to the Light Elves; the pale, delicate beings of Alfheim. However, the Dwarves possessed an unparalleled gift for creation.
In their forges, they crafted objects without compare. What they lacked in beauty, they made up for in wisdom, ingenuousness, and magic.
Their world lay hidden away in the darkness of a labyrinth; shielded from the sunlight that would turn them to stone.
And along with them, the one that sustained the flames for their craft.
