I Never Knew

Professor: This is a Hilda/Ravio fanfiction. I usually don't pair together the Link and Zelda types but…Ravio and Hilda….they're just so freaking adorable! I can' help but ship them! And I love how one line of Hilda's in this story is all 'double meaning' and everything lol. Anyway, I own nothing. Read and Review.

"H-How did the…" Ravio couldn't get a word out as he stared at Lorule's Triforce in shock.

"They used their own Triforce and made a wish…" Hilda softly replied.

"Even after everything that happened…..they really do deserve their Triforce."

Tears bordered on Hilda's eyes.

"It's beautiful…" she murmured.

Ravio looked at her, "Yeah…it is…"

She turned to him, a smile on her face.

"The kingdom…we'll all be ok now!"

Ravio could have laughed. He reached out and gently grabbed her hand. She squeezed his in response.

"What will you do now?" he asked her, almost in a whisper.

"Rebuild Lorule," she stated as if it were obvious.

Ravio chuckled softly, "No, I mean, what will YOU do? Before this you have never once focused on yourself, even for a second. Now, you can relax, live a normal life…"

She looked down at the ground, "I don't know."

He looked at her and she turned her head to look at him. There was something in his eyes that she couldn't figure out…it scared her and yet at the same time she felt drawn in by it.

He open his mouth to say something but decided against it. Instead he raised his hand and his fingers gently brushed her cheek.

'You had to have known.' he thought desperately.

She gasped and pulled back slightly.

His eyes fell and he dropped his hand. "Ok." He softly said, almost so quiet she didn't hear him.

He backed away from her, dropping her hand from his, and Hilda's heart wretched inside of her.

"Sorry…I…" his voice trailed off and he backed off even more. He didn't say anything else.

He gave a short bow and turned away, remembering his formalities.

Hilda raised an arm after him as he left the Sacred Realm but she couldn't bring herself to say something…anything.

He left and she finally found her voice as a tear slid down her cheek.

"Ravio…I…"

She swallowed, her heart ached more than she thought possible.

"I never knew."
