Taking Over Me

Author's Notes: This is a Keiko and Yusuke fanfic. It's the time in the series when Yusuke goes to take over a kingdom in the demon world or something. I don't know, I've never seen those episodes…oh how badly I want to… Anyway, this is just my interpretation of what's going on in Keiko's head during this time.
You don't remember me but I remember you
I lie awake and try so hard not to think of you
But who can decide what they dream?
And dream I do...
Had he really forgotten her? She would lie in her bed at night, thinking about this simple question. So simple, yet so complex. If he had, her whole life would seem meaningless, so insignificant.

She had to be with him. Without him, what was the point of being alive? Every moment of every day she thought about him. She was being driven mad from not being able to see him, not being able to hear his voice. Not knowing if he was even still alive.
Have you forgotten all I know
And all we had?
You saw me mourning my love for you
And touched my hand
I knew you loved me then
In her dream, he had come back. He expressed his love to her, simply by the touch of his hand. He had embraced her, and leaned in slowly toward her… But the sound of the alarm had beckoned her back to reality. She cried, she didn't want to leave the sweet cloud she was floating upon with him, but was forced unmercifully back to the world where he had vanished.

How much longer could she stand it? How much longer did she have to wait for her love to come back to her? She would give up her home, her family, and her life to find him. But she knew that she was stuck in this world where the flowers bloomed, but she couldn't see them. Where the birds sang their soft melodies, but she couldn't hear them.
I look in the mirror and see your face
If I look deep enough
So many things inside that are just like you are taking over
She didn't see anything. All she could see was Yusuke's face. In her reflection, he was there beside her. When she walked, he was walking with her. When she dreamed, he was embracing her.

She remembered being with him. His presence was intoxicating, his appearance breathtaking. He may have been a troublemaker on the outside, but on the inside he was absolutely perfect.
