Title: Boomerang
Character: Locke
Rating: G
Sort of a response to the thrills challenge over in the livejournal community lost100. But it's over 100 words and late, so no coconut. I suck. :(Locke pulls off his shoes, ties the laces together and drapes them around his neck. He inhales the damp night air, feels the sand squish between his toes as he walks beneath the twinkling canopy of stars.
He sees the skies differently here. Orion is upside down. The moon travels through its phases in reverse. Locke remembers an aboriginal tale of how the moon was placed in the heavens. Tribesmen made a giant boomerang that shone, but no one could throw it high enough. A feeble, elderly man asked to try and was laughed at. Regardless, a wise elder allowed him to try. The boomerang soared high into the sky to take its place amongst the stars.
On this island, no one tells Locke what he can or cannot do.
