"I DON'T HATE YOU!" Dick lunged for Jason's arm, but grabbed only air. He stumbled and fell gracefully to his knees. The other felt a stab in his heart, cold like he was being murdered by an icicle. Dick looked up, his face streaked with tears and blood, "I just want to save you while there's still something left to save!"

Jason felt his cheeks flush as the whoosed from his chest. He turned, searching the wrecked face. He watched as blood trickled from the nosed he had kissed only hours ago, the nose he had broken only moments ago. His heart thudded in his ears as he realized just what he'd done. "I love you…B-but I'm not the answer to the questions that you still have."

There was a sob as Dick opened his mouth to speak, "JASON! I don't have any questions! I-I never had, not about you!" Running a shaking had through his matted hair, Jason let out a half choked moan. The man sunk to eye level and buried his face in the crook of Dicks' neck.

"But…If it's not love…How do we g-get o-out?" His voice was muffled and warm on the sticky skin. The other tried his best to calm down enough to answer, but all he pronounce were animal-like sounds, Jason's words echoing in his mind.

They hugged each other closer. Dicks' tears mingled with Jason's. Dick moved his hands to Jason's face and leaned their foreheads together, staring into the dulled eyes. "This IS love, Jay. And, as long as it's with you, I never want out."

A fresh batch of tears erupted from both men. They tried to kiss them away, but there were too many.

Slowly, the flow ebbed and their breathing deepened. Although he was older, Dick was definitely lighter. Jason pulled them both to their feet. He hoisted the first Robin into his arms, bridal style, and navigated them through the tiny apartment, and into the miniscule bathroom.

The tub was far too small for two grown men to fit, but he somehow made it happen. With Dick situated between his legs, Jason leaned forward and turned on the knobs, finding a comfortable temperature.

Hot water fogged the window and mirror as it rose, soaking their ruined clothes and soothing their broken skin. They both moaned, then hissed, as it relaxed the tensed muscles while also stung cuts.

Dick twisted the water off with his foot and sank back against the shallow moving chest. "OW, owowowowowowow!" Jason sucked air through clenched teeth, "Broken rib, broken rib." The other shifted until he heard a sigh of relief.

Jason gently grabbed the hand that rested on his knee and moved it toward his split lips for a kiss. "AH! D-dislocated s-shoulder, Jay!" He eased it back to its' original spot and settled for kissing the back of Dicks' neck.

"Sometimes.." His breath shuddered, "This world gets too…Loud…And it drags me back under again."

A bit of pink tinged water sloshed to the grey tile as Dick shifted.

"I will always pull you up, Jay-bird." He whispered as their lips ghosted as kiss.
