I apologize if you were looking for a story but i wanted to try posting a general poem about kelpies and i can only say that reading the fantastic books known as the iron fey by the amazing author Julie Kagawa, inspired it. This poem is based on what i have read kelpies to be like and what they do in legends. Again, sorry if this post mislead you in anyway but i hope you enjoy my poem anyway.

Beware the Kelpies:

Beneath the lake,

Beneath your view,

Here monsters lurk anew,

So don't be fooled,

See passed their lies,

For the Kelpies are waiting to claim their prize. . .

One thing is for certain never mount this steed,

For if you do it's the last you'll be seen,

Once aboard the devil will run,

And you'll know the nightmare in which you've begun. . .

Beneath the surface, you cry for help,

As the water surrounds, and you can't save yourself,

Now stuck to the devil,

Now trapped to your steed,

You cry for help,

You plead to leave. . .

As your struggles grow weak, and the last light becomes dark,

The monster has won,

With a meal to claim,

This meal is for one,

Beware the Kelpies these demons disguised,

Turn back and run, if you value your life,

So don't be fooled,

See passed their lies,

Beware the steed that lurks by the tides…
