Book I: The Daughter of House Black
Chapter 1. Birth of a baby girl
Eleven years flew by before he even knew it.
Naturally, he had been in the St Mungo's waiting room midnight – having no intention of being involved in the messy business of actual birth – until the Mediwitch informed him and his relatives that the baby had arrived just as the clock struck twelve, signalling the change of October 31st to November 1st 1951.
Entering the delivery room, Cygnus Black III could not help the smug smirk upon noticing his older sister Walburga's incredulous look turn into a jealous glare. For they were seeing his firstborn LITERALLY sparking with energy as she screamed a cry. Her Accidental Magic showing at mere minutes old was an indication of the power this child would one day hold. It truly seemed prophetic for her birth to occur exactly midnight of All Hallows Eve.
You will become great, my daughter. I know it, Cygnus thought as an exhausted Druella handed the baby over while somehow looking for all intents and purposes like a Duchess doing it rather than a new mother.
His older brother Alphard peeked over Cygnus' shoulder, commenting: "She's such a tiny thing!"
Orion, their second-cousin / brother-in-law, snorted derisively. "Of course she is. Or did you expect her to be born a full-grown adult?"
Alphard rolled his eyes at the thick sarcasm. "No." The ravenette turned back to his new niece just as Aunt Cassiopeia spoke up:
"Dearie, have you chosen a name yet?"
The curly-headed brunette born a Rosier regally shook her head. "It is for you to decide, Cygnus," she informed her husband.
He stopped coldly glaring at his brother for attempting to poke the newest addition to the Darkest Family and locked eyes with said infant, stormy gray meeting (temporary) baby blue.
"Belliatrix Alexia Black."
A.N.: I know, I know. But couldn't resist starting a new story because this idea has been buggin' me for over a year. *shrugs* It's why I started writing 'GRIM' – which, by the way, feels like a stupid story now but I won't discontinue it in case my muse decides to do the next chapter for it.
Also, 'Harry & The Potter Universe' is confusing to everyone, including myself. So I will be writing this to help clear my head a bit. :D
