«Child of Loki»

Harry Potter / Vikings crossover

Premise- Remus Lupin in an effort to find a wonderful present for Harry's first birthday finds an ancient viking pendant in a antique store in Diagon Alley. The pendant is engraved with the symbol of Loki Norse god of magic, wolves and trickery with runes for protection, safe passage and change carved into it. Considering it the perfect gift it's given to Harry tied to a bracelet and he never takes it off. During the attack on Godric's Hollow Lilly's sacrifice activities the dormant power in the runes, releasing Loki's blessing onto Harry. When Tom Riddle tries to kill Harry the combination of Loki's blessing and Lily's sacrifice are able to protect him leaving him unharmed but for a small lightning bolt scar on his forehead. The resulting magical backlash causes Harry to be sent back in time were he is found by Floki and his wife Helga who upon seeing the pendant and scar are convinced he is a gift sent from the gods. They take Harry to the seer who tells them Harry has been sent to them by the god Loki to raise as their own, and that he is blessed with Loki's ability to shape shift into any animal or person and his cunning trickery.

Requirements-

· Harry will have a scar but no horcrux.

· Loki will be the one responsible for sending Harry back in time and returning him.

· Harry appears before the events of the first season of Vikings.

· Helga will be a witch and teaches Harry how to use magic especially runes and potions.

· Magic users are well respected by the viking people.

· Floki will teach him the ways of the gods, how to fight and to be smart enough to use every advantage he has.

· Harry will aid Floki during the raids on England before the pilgrimage.

· Harry will have no problem killing if he thinks it is necessary.

· Up to four additional runes may be used on the pendant representing attributes that will be enhanced over time.

· Harry must be returned to Hogwarts at either 11 (for sorting) or 14 (for G.O.F) however his return must happen immediately after the last rites of the pilgrimage to Uppsalla.

· Harry will be able to use the "safe passage" rune to go back and forth in time only once every few months and can only take a few people wiht (eventually) -opt.

· Sirius free Pettigrew in Azkaban but escapes third or fourth year.( Remus was with him and they both went looking for Harry)

· House sorting your choice.

Restrictions-

· No holly wand ( note at bottom)

· No slash

· Pairing if you decide to do it Hermione or Tonks (third year if Harry is 11 or seventh if Harry is 14) or both (Vikings were not shy about sex)

· Other pairings at discretion of authors

· No Harry / Ginny

· Ron will not be Harry's best friend Neville will be.

-Note- the only reason Harry would have that wand is if he had the horcrux. It can be different regardless. Authors encouraged to be creative.( And I am tired of reading about that wand)

My choice would be 11in, Ash and Mistletoe, with a core of three entwined tail feathers of a white raven.

A break down of the wand choice. Eleven is a magically powerful number. In Norse mythology the great ash tree is the most sacred of all. Mistletoe was used by Loki through trickery to kill an invulnerable god. The three white raven tail feathers are to pay homage to Odin and The Norns. The raven is sacred to Odin and the three white feathers represent The Norns, the goddesses of Destiny.
