Annie lays on the ground in a "U" shape. I sit down in the middle and rest my head on my friend's legs as she goes through the roses from different guys. In Panem, every high school has an annual dance. If you want to ask someone, you have to collect a flower from the corral, and propose to go to the dance to the person you want. Annie and I are currently sitting in the corner of the corral full of flowers, watching couples practice their dancing. I spot a certain Peeta Mellark and my friend, Madge. I feel a lump in my throat because I realize I haven't been asked yet. I close my eyes and breathe while listening to Annie choose between Finnick or Brutus. I believe she picks Finnick but I forget because something thuds beside me. I open my eyes and see that it is a white rose with a blue tint. I slowly resolve that there is a person standing over me when Annie taps me on the stomach. I look up and see Peeta, smiling. He sits down beside me and I have to imagine the look on my face because he's laughing.

"What?" I say confused, a boy like him surely threw me the rose as a joke.

"I asked you if you wanted to go to the dance with me." He smiles.

My vision darts over to Annie and the look in her eyes is reminding me to answer Peeta.

"I thought you were going with Madge...?"

"No, she's going with gale. She just asked me if we could practice. So... are going with me?"

"Oh, um, yes."

What he does next surprises me He picks me up, bridal style and spins me around. I'm giggling when I see that everyone in the corral is looking at us. When Peeta sets me down, everyone starts cheering. I'm so confused.

"Peeta, why are they cheering?" He looks down at me.

"Because they all know I've had a crush on you since kindergarten"

"Really?"

"Yes katniss, and you're blushing. " peeta smiles

"May I kiss you?" He says like a gentleman.

"Yes"

The second he presses his lips to mine I see fireworks.

We disconnect by a centimeter. Peeta moves and says into my ear , loud enough so only I can hear, " I wish I could freeze this moment right here, right now, and live in it forever."
