After taking the ranch, they planned to make a big business. So they think about several projects to expand their business like open a shop to sell what they plant in their farm or distribute some of their crop to other stores with a good price. Eventually, George and Lennie decide to open a small shop in which they can distribute their product and get some money. George cannot trust Lennie to leave him alone in either the store or the farm because George knows that if he leaves Lennie alone, Lennie will do something terrible, and he will regret if he does. So they start taking a shift in who stay in the shop and who stay in the ranch with the ranch hands. And one day, George have something to do and he has to leave for two days, so he has to depend on Lennie to run the store and the farm. George asks Lennie to act in a good behavior and never do anything crazy. Lennie shows his obedience. Then George leaves the farm and the store with Lennie. After a while, Lennie breaks his promise to George and he gets this crazy idea which is to take the sheep and shave its wool. And he put the wool in his room. And he likes it, so he takes the chickens and pick off its feathering and he makes his room looks better, softer and more comfortable.
