AN: This is after the battle in eclipse when Jasper was bitten protecting Alice, A little oneshot about them.
I walked in to look at my beautiful wife sitting on the bed with an angry expression on her face. She looked up to see me and hopped up walked over and started punching my stomach
"JASPER WHITLOCK HALE I CANNOT BELIEVE YOU, I CAN TAKE CARE OF MYSELF AND YOUR SUCH AN OVERPROTECTIVE FOOl And I couldn't stand it if you got hurt more than you did….."
She trailed off resting her head on my chest fists in mid punch. I ignored the agonizing pain in my arm and looked down at my pixie like soulmate. I moved her hair out of her face and started to look her over. "what are you doing?" she asked me quizzically. "I'm making sure you're not hurt" I told her confidently. She took a step back.
"you just had a chunk taken out of your arm and youre seeing if I'm okay!"
"yes" I asked, more of a question.
"well I'm fine" she told me softly. I could feel the love radiating off of her and I smiled, but the grin faded as I sensed something else…is that pain? She was hurt! And she lied to me about it! I followed the pain and gripped her wrist where I saw the shape of a vampires jaw bite in her flesh. "it's nothing" she was trying to reassure me.
"you are hurt" I said and quickly got a rag with water and started to clean it up.
"compared to you I'm sunshine." She replied defiantly. She then put her small hand on mine and took my chin in her hand. She whispered "you are not the man you were. You are protecting you're family and you never have to go back to the way it was with maria"
"how did you know" I whispered. She grinned softly.
"you are my soulmate. I love you and overall I know you" she kissed my forehead and walked out to tend to the injured. I sat back on my heels grinning and feeling the happiest I had in a while.
