Janet had always loved rainbows, everytime he saw one he was reminded of her. But not in a bad way, no. Daniel had long since stopped mourning her, it wouldn't bring her back and there was no point. Even now, with Vala's exited babble in his ear and her hand squeezing his he remembered Janet. He had loved her, but he had moved on, Vala was his light in the dark place that had once been his life and she shone like the sun. Janet would have liked her and probably found her annoying at times.
Daniel remembered Janet through rainbows, but Vala was the one he loved now.
