What is it Chloe?, Clark asked concerned.

Well, the storm wreaked a lot of havoc, for sure. But I studied the weather, atmospheric and geological reports for the area where Uncle Sam was found and there seems to be more than just weather anomalies, Chloe said hesitantly.

So, what does this mean Chloe? Clark asked impatiently

It means that it was more than just a bad storm that killed Same Lane and we have no idea what it was. All I found was a vortex that seemed to appear almost right where Uncle Sam was driving his car. It was there one minute and in the next it was gone. His car even disappeared.

Who was the woman that was with him Chloe? Clark looked at her seriously.

What woman Clark? Chloe seemed puzzled and frazzled.

There is no record of a woman being there. Not in the police or weather reports. There was no second body found.

But I saw here there Chloe. She was an officer. She was leaning over him, trying to help, Clark said exasperated.

Or was she trying to help? Clark thought. He felt nauseous. What was she doing there? He never even talked to her or asked her name. His head felt heavy, his mind foggy. What if that woman killed Sam Lane and he didn't even stop her. He just let her go.

Was his mind so overwhelmed and consumed with thoughts of Lois that he wasn't thinking clearly as he ran to the cries of help that he heard?

But, how could she be the killer if she was the one he heard cry for help? Was she the one calling for help?

Clark sat down, stunned.

Chloe ran over to him.

Clark, Clark, are you okay?! You're pale and shaking? You feel faint or sick?

Chloe, Clark whispered. Chloe, Clark said a little louder now. We need to find that woman. He looked at her with a look of grief and guilt and weakness.

*Knock, knock, knock.

Lois paused the movie and got up out off the couch. She walked gingerly to the door. Who could it be? She thought. I don't want to talk to anyone or have any visitors right now at all, she thought.

She opened the door slowly. May I help you, she said hesitantly.

Yes, Ms. Lane, my name is Brooke King. I'm here to talk about your Father.
