Human babies were strange beings. Incapable of looking after themselves, they managed to seduce the adults around them into catering to their every need. Even he had been assigned to protect the creature, a job he considered below that which his status deserved. The monotony of the assignment was such that he found himself being just as enthused by the babies every bodily function as the humans, a point he found quite disturbing.

But watching the baby now, curled sleeping against its mother's breast, he envied it. "Don't worry baby. Angels are watching over you."
