When one tributes kills another, not only do they gain confidence, but they also get something else. Something powerful. A random choosing of speed, strength, stealth, night vision, or better hearing. This is the Fifth Quarter Quell, and it is like no other.

The Fifth Quarter Quell

Snow looked as if he was ready to go in the games himself as he stood up on the podium in front of the capital's vast audience. This year was the 125th Hunger Games and it was like all multiples of twenty-five, it was a quarter quell. This year's quell was that even the underdogs have a chance to win and get stronger. Each time a tribute was killed they would get a random physical advancement such as speed, strength, night vision, better hearing, or stealth.
