Panic started setting in. Where is he? I thought as I gripped my forearm tightly, wondering why it had been ice cold. I paced around the room, now anxious due to my roommate not being in his usual accommodation.
I walked out into the shared hallway of our home until I had reached the kitchen which had been seemingly untouched. Upon further inspection, I discovered my past belief was false. All had been left as it was before I had dozed several hours earlier; apart from a slip of paper that had been hastily written on and taped to the old refrigerator.
Kookie — I left to go get some milk. I
should be home by 10:30, call me once
you see this. :)
I glanced over at the glowing numbers on the microwave that read 10:43. I now being even more nervous than I had been previously, jogged back to my bedroom. I began rummaging through my bedside drawer, becoming more perturbed by the second.
I, at last, uncovered my phone from all of the assorted trinkets I'd acquired over the years. I quickly typed out the familiar number of my best friend, bringing the electronic up to my ear. I listened to the ringing once, twice, three times; until it had finally been sent to voicemail.
I resorted to my final choice; to go and look for him. I ran down the hall, not caring about anything except for my friend's wellbeing. I grabbed the car keys that went with the old, yet nice car that Taehyung and I shared.
I went forth on my journey, opening the apartment door and carelessly slamming it closed. I make what seemed to be hundreds of turns until I reached the elevator, clicking the down arrow impatiently. I continued until I gave up and ran over to the steep staircase that was behind a dupe of an iron door.
I bolted down the staircase with no thoughts about it. I avoided a bulky man that had been climbing the stairs rather slowly and other possible obstacles. Finally, I reached the end of the stairs, taking a deep breath before I continued on my mission.
I waved to the clerk at the front desk and ran out the door to where my truck had been parked a few yards away. Shoving the keys in the ignition, I pulled out of the parking lot and sped along the quiet street. My heart had been beating at an alarming rate, but I ignored the thing going crazy in my chest and sped up even more than you would think is even possible.
I kept moving forward for what seemed like an eternity until I had spotted something on the sidewalk on the far left side of the road. I couldn't believe my eyes, I had frozen in place as I suddenly realized what I saw and what it meant. My body started moving without me realizing until I snapped out of my shocked state and seemingly appeared halfway across the street.
I had seen a busted gallon of milk that had been dropped unwillingly by who you would think was just a random stranger. But no; it was much, much worse than that. My face turned just as white, if not whiter than the milk that had spilled onto the sidewalk. What was currently occurring in front of me wouldn't have even been in my worst nightmare. I began moving again, determined to save my best friend; Kim Taehyung.
I at first thought of having the title as just white as milk but I looked that up and saw a book with the same title I have now and thought it fit well with the chapter so there ya go! This took me forever to write but I loved writing it and I hope you enjoyed reading it as well. I have no set schedule but I'd like to update at least once a month.
