This is my first story, that has more than 270 words, here in the Wicked section, and I must admit that it's a bit scary.

Summary: Galinda has had a bad day and what better to do than to complain about it?

"Ugh!" Galinda stormed in groaning out of anger. Elphaba looked up from the book she had been devouring the last hour and saw a dishevelled blonde girl enter the room. Her hair was tousled and it looked as though she was limping.

Once Elphaba got over the shock at the sight of the normally very beautiful girl, she opened her mouth to speak, but got even before a sound came out.

"Ugh! I hate my life!" Galinda exclaimed. Elphaba raised an eyebrow before responding:

"What happened?"

Galinda let out a cry, and started pacing around the room.

"First I get out in the hall and the two brothers -you know the ones that look just like each other- run over me. I have not even gotten on my feet before I fall over yet again after ducking for some girl's purse." She took a deep breath and put down her hands that had been flying around in the air out of pure anger.

"Then!" She stopped for what Elphaba assumed was a dramatic pause before continuing. "I spilled tea on myself in the dining hall." She pointed to a large brownish stain on her light pink dress. "And to top it all of I broke a heel when I was walking back here to change. And of course I had to fall again, because I was walking funny."

Elphaba would have felt sorry for the poor girl if it was not such a hilarious sight, Galinda standing there with the shoe in one hand and the heel in the other.

"These shoes cost my popsicle a lot of money too, I hope he does not get angry with me." Her voice sounded close to tears and as Elphaba looked she saw small water droplets in her eyes. With that she stood up and walked over to the now crying girl. Pulling an arm around her she pushed her slowly towards the pink bed and they sat down.

"Calm down, my sweet." She stroke Galinda's face and gave her a light smile.

"But the shoes and the falling and the stain. Sweet Oz, the stain. My pretty dress!" She put her face into Elphaba's shoulder and wet the soft fabric within seconds.

"My pretty, life is funny, life is a mess. But no matter what it brings, do not worry."

Elphaba only got a wailing in response. She hugged her close, figuring the only way for her to stop was to let it all out. She rocked the pink girl slowly trying in every way to sooth her, and after a while the sobbing had reduced to small sniffs.

"How are you feeling?" Elphaba dared to ask as she looked down at the smaller girl. Her makeup was ruined and it looked as though her face had fallen off. Galinda caught her staring and hid her face back into the green girl's shoulder.

"M'good." Galinda's muffled voice let our. She pulled away again and looked at Elphaba. "Thank you."

She tried to hide a yawn.

"Are you tired?" Galinda shook her head and Elphaba raised an eyebrow. "You have had a hard afternoon. It is alright if you take a nap. I can wake you for supper."

Galinda smiled and gave out a low thank you before lying back on her bed while closing her eyes. Elphaba stood up and pulled a blanked over the blonde girl before walking back to her own bed. It was time for her to return to the book and not think of the beautiful lying in the bed next to hers.

So, whatcha think?
