Alone Without A Star

Who's best, who's perfect?
Thay all want me to choose,
Without a thought,
To what we all have to lose.

Aeka is graceful, proper, royal,
Fair skin and noble heart.
Wild, free and lovely Ryoko,
Was devoted from the start.

Innocent Mihoshi,
Dutiful and oddly wise.
And Sasami, girl and goddess,
Always at my side.

Washu's eccentric,
But lovable just the same.
If ill befell any of them,
I'd have myself to blame.

I love them all, love them dearly.
Yet my heart must not choose.
For none of them know,
What we all have to lose.

Two men before me,
Know all too well,
That awful kind,
Of personal Hell.

Happy they were before,
Grandma died, leaving Grandpa alone.
Mom followed her,
Leaving behind an empty home.

Our men are cursed,
To have one child and no bride.
Forever an empty bed,
No one by our side.

I love them all too much,
And would rather love from afar,
Than to choose one over another,
Only to be alone without a Star.
