A/N: 'Dhyaana' means 'meditation' in sanskrit, apparently. Also, first Kingdom Hearts fic. Don't know if I'll be doing anymore. Also, please review. Thanks. Oh, and beta'd. Thanks Laura.

Dedicated to Nicole (ChoFrog09). Happy birthday, Kaa-san!

"What are you doing?" asked a sweet, melodic voice. The very one he had been dreaming of.

"Meditation," he replied softly and without opening his eyes. "Why?" He gave her a shrug, eyes still shut.

"It's relaxing."

"Oh." There was a pause. "Can I join you?" This time he slowly opened his eyes.

"Yes," he answered. He knew that it would now be that much harder to concentrate with her there, but he just couldn't refuse.

He patted the spot next to him and she sat down, despite the fact that the ground was covered in moss and stones from years of being untouched.

When his mother had first started him meditating, he had found it stupid. Who sat around and tried to find their inner self? But as time had progressed, it had started to grow on him, and the secret place had become his favorite place to do so. He hadn't told the others, for fear of being laughed at, but now that she had found out he realized that he didn't really mind.

They sat there like that for a while in almost complete silence. His only instruction to her had been to focus on the spot between her eyes and she had closed them and done just that.

He, on the other hand, was having a much harder time. Something about her constantly distracted him, and his thoughts of inner peace kept shifting back to her. He noticed that her hair smelled like paopu fruit, and as he pictured it, her eyes appeared as well. They were a deep blue, like the far off ocean or the midnight sky. The rest of her face painted itself in his mind then – her nose and then her lips, parted slightly and moist.

It was only then that he felt her. The girl's presence had re-entered the area. Letting his eyes float open, he saw her staring at the ground intently.

"Having trouble?" he asked with a slight hint of amusement. She abruptly looked up, startled. The shock wore off and she nodded silently.

"So am I," he admitted, not quite sure why. "It takes a while sometimes, though. And the concentration takes a lot of practice." The girl nodded again, seemingly thoughtful.

"What does your mind keep wandering to?" he asked, and a sudden feeling of nervousness entered him.

"Oh, stuff." He felt slightly disappointed with this answer and he wasn't sure why. What had he been expecting? "You?"

"Oh, uh, stuff too." He blushed slightly, eyes fixated on the ground.

"Ah."

What followed was a long silence that was neither awkward nor comfortable. It was stuck in some middle state, though the peaceful atmosphere from before had changed somewhat. Only when time had drifted for an unusually long time did she stand.

"Thanks Sora." She smiled at him and then bent down, momentarily pressing her lips against his cheek before exiting the secret place.

Sora sat there, dazed, a hand where she had briefly kissed him. After what seemed like an eternity, he spoke to the calm darkness around him, his voice light and drifting.

"Thanks Kairi."
