Trap
You want to know how to trap Macgyver?
That's easy. Find someone he's promised to help and use them as bait. There are many other ways, too. You probably won't hold him for long though. I mean, someone once tried to drug/poison him and he still managed to escape and retrieve the antidote. All in under six hours.
Oh, you want to know how to KEEP him trapped.
Hmm... That's a little trickier. Give me a minute.
Okay, the only way that I can see working is too knock him out, strip him bare, make sure he doesn't have anything hidden in any...crevices (remember this could very well add rape to your ultimate charges), and toss him in a room that is completely empty of EVERYTHING. Make sure there is no handle or lock on the inside of the door. It should be completely smooth. Give him NOTHING. The best kind of food to give him would probably be soup, in a bowl, no spoon. Make sure it is not to hot when given to him. ALWAYS keep watch while he is eating to make sure he does not try to make anything with said soup and bowl. MacGyver is a crafty in more ways than one. Above all else, you must not underestimate him.
Why am I telling you this? I happen to like MacGyver. NO, not in that way, you imbecile. He is a great guy. You know what? You need to forget everything I just told you.
Oh, don't worry, I'll track down the ones on the other end of your wire and make them forget as well.
Now, this will only hurt a little...

Oh, hey. You heard all that huh? Do I need to make you forget too?
Oh. Your admire MacGyver? Ahaha. He helped you out once? That explains it. You're wondering how I know him. I suppose you could say that we're drinking buddies. No, not that kind of drinking. MacGyver stays away from Alcohol whenever possible. We go and get coffee and just chat. He makes me laugh by telling me about his latest stunts. In exchange, he gets some time off from saving people and gets some time to relax.
I also am technically a therapist for the people who work for Pete Thorton. Mac doesn't need a therapist though. He just needs a good friend. But Pete won't call on Mac if he's in a 'therapy' session. Hmmm... I should talk to Pete about the little plan I came up with. Ah, it's been years since I did any work in the field. You won't tell anyone about it will you? We don't want it being heard by someone who will actually use it against Mac, now do we? Of course, technically, you now know too much. Now, I'm not one for killing, but I can make you forget this day even happened. Causing short term memory loss has always been a specialty of mine. Yes, it probably would be safest for everyone, yourself included.
Perhaps I'll just make you forget the past six hours. Don't worry. It won't hurt much.

Author's Note: Hello. I have been watching MacGyver lately, and Mac is ALWAYS getting caught and locked up, then escaping and taking the bad guys down. I HAVE NOT SEEN ALL OF MACGYVER! But anyways, I was thinking about how you could trap Mac and keep him trapped. This is what I came up with.
This character was created for pretty much one reason. To come up with this plan. I believe that Pete would hire a Therapist for his agents. I also see him trying to get MacGyver to see one occasionally. I do not see Mac going and talking with a shrink. A friend, yes. Especially if that friend has clearance.
So this character is a woman who used to be a field agent, is now a therapist, who has befriended Mac.
Who knows, maybe I'll do more with her. Probably not.
