Twas a Fair Elf Indeed
Twas a fair elf prince during the third age of Arda*,
Who left his beloved halls to bring aid to the race of men.
Perhaps he would have fared better if he wasn't there then.
For once he saw the Lady of the Woods, he could not forget,
The way she was when she went to the Havens after they met.
The elven prince, Legolas was his name, left middle-Earth
With a friend of his, Gimli, to join her at the sea,
Never to return again, and not to ever see,
His father Thranduil or Aragorn the human king.
Solemnly in solitude, the evlen king would sing.
* Arda is the world and Middle-Earth is the country.
