Perfect Timing

Okay, I've added to it for all of you who wished it were a bit longer. Thanks for all you're suggestions!
Duo watched the fading rays of the sun as it set. So pretty, even if the colors were a bit… too cheerful. It wouldn't be long now. He stuck a hand into the pocket of the black coat he wore, despite the warmth of the evening, and smiled. WuFei had always nagged him about wearing it all the time, but he loved it. It was the one Heero had given him the one time he'd remembered his birthday. The smile faded as he was brought back to reality by his hand coming in contact with the cold, sharp object he'd slipped into the pocket without anyone noticing. Heero wouldn't have to worry about forgetting anymore. He wouldn't have to worry about coming home to an upset Quatre, a lecture from Trowa, and him trying to get both of them to leave him alone, all because he'd forgotten someone he didn't even care about. He took a breath and tried to concentrate on the sunset again.
Duo almost jumped as he felt Heero sit behind him and wrap his arms around his waist. He hadn't heard the boy approach his perch on the edge of the roof. "Hello."
Heero smiled, well, as close to a smile as he gets, anyway. "Hello."
"Did you want something??" Duo asked, impatient to be alone again, even if he did love even just being near the boy that he loved more than life itself.
"As a matter of fact, i do. i wanted to tell you something."
"What's that?"
Heero took Duo's left hand in his own and leaned in to kiss him lightly. "Duo, even though i don't say it often, i love you." Duo blinked in surprise and just stared as he stood and walked back to the window that led inside. He felt a tear slide down his cheek and smiled. No. Heero was wrong. That was the first time he had EVER said it. He looked back out across the yard into the fading sunset he'd been watching. He stood and threw something off the side of the house, over the cliff it overlooked, and followed Heero's path into the house. A faint flicker shone from the bottom of the cliff as the last rays of the sun caught the blade of the dagger.
The End
