Death had come to them before. It wasn't something they were totally unfamiliar with, something that happened only to someone else, somewhere else. But that was the death of an old man or a sick child, both tragic, yet expected in their small community.
The death that had brought the stranger to their town was different. It was the sort of death they hadn't experienced before as a town. It was the sort of death they had always feared. The death of a young woman, inexorably connected to the woods and whatever spirits inhabited them.
Agent Cooper sought the answer. But his pursuit would take him to a realm deep inside those woods and deep inside himself. The community was strong and would stand by him but there was a chance, just a chance, that the darkness was stronger. And, in the end, that would be his downfall as it slowly consumed him.
