The sounds of the northern woods invaded the quiet of the lodge lending and eerie feeling to an otherwise romantic rendezvous. Sheriff Truman stared longingly into the darkened eyes of his lover as he laid her down on the soft carpet in front of the fire. He thought with certainty that no man could love any woman anymore that he loved Josie Packard.
Out of the darkness of the evening, the sound of an owl outside the lodge echoed throughout and mingled with the sound of soft moans as he laid a trail of kisses down her neck. But a sense of fear was near him, always near him. A darkness surrounded Twin Peaks. It lived in the woods that circled the small mountain town and it was coming closer.
The ever-present cycle of evil that had been with the area since long before white men had settled it was closing in. And even as he sunk himself into the soft heat of his lover's body, he could feel it getting closer, ever close, threatening to consume them both.
