Angela sat on the side of Jane's bed watching the girl sleep. She is such a bubbly little girl. So filled with hope and wonder. Like every four year old should be, she is such a beautiful little girl.
Angela kisses Jane's head once more and turns on the girls favourite night light and places her teddy bear beside her.
She wished time could stay like this forever and the girl could always be as happy as she is at this age. She deserves everything and Angela knows she'll try he best to give the girl everything she can.

"Ma! Seriously! I cant be dropped off by my Mom! Thats so lame.." Jane says and sees tears in her mothers eyes
Angela nods despite her upset "How about I drop you off around the block? You still are only 14 Jane.."
"Ugh! I cant wait to grow up! There is so much I cant do at my age! I want to be an adult!"
"No you don't Jane. You should try and stay young for as long as possible. Now, how about you get the bus to your date then? That make you feel grown up?" Angela asked, smiling on the outside but Jane heard the hurt in the woman's voice
Jane bites her lip "Actually, it doesn't matter Ma. I want you to meet the girl I'm on this date with, her name's Maura.."

"Bye Janie, call home wont you?"
Jane nods, tears in her eyes "Of course Ma. This is silly I'll be home in a couple of weeks, I'm in college I'm not dying"
"I know. This is a big thing Janie. You're all alone in this big new apartment.. I'm gonna miss having you around the house"
"I'll miss you too Ma" Jane says hugging the woman again
Angela wipes her daughters tears "You'll do fine sweetheart. See you soon"
Jane watches Angela leave and when she's gone she sits in the bed. This is so new. So different.
She never thought this would be so lonely. She plugs in her nightlight from when she was a kid and curls up in bed.
What she'd give to be young again.

Jane sat in the edge of Cooper's bed watching the little girl sleep.
Maura stood at the door a soft smile on her face "She's an angel when she sleeps isn't she?"
Jane turns to her wife, tears in her eyes
"Our angel.."
Maura sits into Jane's lap and kisses her cheek "Whats on your mind?"
"Its just... She's growing up so fast. It feels like yesterday you were screaming at me to get all the beer out of the house because the smell made you sick while you were pregnant"
Maura smiled "I was an anti-christ wasn't I?"
Jane nods "Yes, but it was worth it. We got Coop.."
"She is growing up so quickly though.. Soon it'll be boys and make up and parties-"
"Stop. That wont be anytime soon. She is 4. Soon it will be school and study and football... Then boys and make up and parties"
Maura smiles "Jane, don't be in denial. You remember being a teenager, she will want to be away from us.. It's all part of growing up"
"Yeah well, I'll do what Ma did to me" Jane laughed and Maura smiled
"What did she do?"
"Guilt tripped me. I remember on mine and yours first date, I told Ma I didn't want her to drop me off at the movies because it was lame..."
