"But why?" Jane moaned.
"Because it will be fun!" Maura exclaimed, handing Jane a sheet of paper and a pen.
"Ughhhhhh." Jane groaned, accepting the pen and paper. "But why bucketlist's? They're boring."
"It will help us to get to know eachother better!" Maura said, excitedly. "And it'll give us new things to try instead of you texting me saying you're bored every waking moment that you're not at work."
"Fine." Jane unwillingly agreed.
"Yay, so, write down all of the things you want to do before you, well, die, and then we'll exchange papers! Oh, and we have to read our favourite one out loud."
"Okay, fine, whatever." Jane said, smiling cheekily.
They both set about writing for about 5 minutes.
"Done." Jane said, unenthusiastically.
"Hang on…" Maura said as she scribbled one last line down. "Me too."
"So… Do we just swap now?" Jane asked.
"Um, yeah, here you go!" They both held out their papers and exchanged them. They began scanning down the lists.
"Okay, I am not going on a tour of all catacombs in Italy." Jane said.
"But it'll be fun and educational!" Maura exclaimed.
"Yeah, no."
"Fine, I'm not going all the way to Seattle to watch the whatever it is you want to watch."
"Hey!" Jane moaned, laughing at the same time.
As the two women reached the bottom of each other's lists, they fell silent. Maura was the first to speak.
"Favourites? You first."
"No, you can go first."
"Together?" Maura reasoned.
"Okay."
"3, 2, 1…"
"Be married to Maura."
"Be married to Jane."
