He's not a good person. He really wanted to be. For his sake, for his father's, but mostly for Georgie. And for a while there he thought he might have a chance. A shot to make her proud of him, until he realized that being a good man, being an honest, upstanding man meant that he didn't get to be with her. It meant that he had to watch that possessive jerk Dillon control her for the rest of both of their lives. And he couldn't stand the thought. The truth was he wanted Georgie more than he wanted his own salvation.

Still, when he finds her crying in front of Kelly's he wants to call the whole thing off. Tell her what he and LuLu have plotted and that Dillon was tricked into cheating on her.

But he knows she'll never forgive him. She'll hate him forever and go back and makeup with Dillon, a man who will never love and respect her the way he can.

He can make Georgie happy. Really, truly happy, because he won't try to cage her, or control her and he won't take her for granted. He certainly wouldn't take off around the world with another woman and then blame it on her.

He would treat her better than Dillon ever did. That's what he tells himself as he wraps his arms around her and lets her cry. He tells himself that even though she Is hurting, even though it hurts him to hear her cry like this, it's a horrible means to a great end.

He'll make it up to her. He'll love her so completely that she'll forget all about Dillon Quartermaine. He'll never make her regret being with him.

He tells himself this over and over. He makes himself believe it. He kisses her cheek, her brow, her lips and does a silent cheer as she responds to him.

He hasn't ever been a good man, but now that he has Georgie in his arm, now that he has a chance with her he swears that he will change. He can be a good man.

At least that's what he tells himself.
