Title: Don't Lie

Summary: Please don't lie to me. The lies are so hard to forget. Soubi x Ritsuka

Disclaimer: Loveless doesn't belong to me. Never has, never will.

A/N: Ritsuka's thoughts are shown like this. This is my first attempt at a fanfic, and my first story written in this style. Tell me what you think!

The rain's unrelenting pitter-patter upon the roof is broken by the boy's voice. "Why are you here?" Please don't say it's because of Seimei.

"Here, as in here with you? Or here, as in your house?" Soubi asks, playing with the cat ears on Ritsuka's head.

Ritsuka rolls his eyes. "I don't know. Both. Either." Does it matter which? Aren't they the same?

"Because I love you."

"Don't say that!" And quit messing with my ears.

"Why not?"

"I don't know if you mean it. How can I? You always lie and… Don't… Don't lie to me about your feelings. Just don't lie to me at all." Please don't. I can't handle it. The lies are so hard to forget.

"I'm sorry."

"Don't say that! Don't apologize unless you mean it. Saying things you don't mean… That's lying. Don't." Ritsuka's voice breaks at the end; his body shaking as tears begin to fall from violet eyes.

"Please don't cry." Soubi holds the boy to his chest, waiting for the sobs to subside. Ritsuka doesn't have the strength to fight Soubi's arms around him; or maybe he wants the comfort.

"Really, Soubi, why are you here?" Ritsuka mumbles brokenly into Soubi's shirt. Please say you love me again. It sounds nice when you say it.

"Because I love you." Soubi hugs Ritsuka tighter, pulling the younger male closer to him as if it'll make them closer in spirit. It doesn't; but for a moment Soubi can pretend it does, and that's enough.

Soubi could've sworn he heard Ritsuka whisper, "I think I believe you." But perhaps it was only his imagination.
