Okay, so it's come to my attention that perhaps the context of Frostbite And The Breakdancing Eddie (Upload To YouTube?!) seemed a bit skewed to some people. So, in these (Upload To YouTube and the original) shots, the story takes place the day-well night-before Eddie, Mason and Mia sneak out of the ski lodge to hunt Strigoi. Mason leaves to catch up with Rose (who encounters Adrian's pole-up-the-ass daddy dearest), and the others stay behind. They've all had a few, including Eddie, who decides 'what the hell?' and starts breakdancing like there's no tomorrow.
Adrian, ever one to have a drink on hand yet seemingly never drunk enough, decides to catch it all on video to show the dhampir at a later time when he's sober, because a sober Eddie would never believe he's been some kind of sloppy, uncoordinated dancer. Now, keep in mind that everything else happens the same way it did in the book. Those three disappear the day after, Rose and Christian go after them, they all get kidnapped, and when they try to break free, Mason goes back to help Rose and that asshole Isaiah snaps his neck.
Adrian decides that, after two months of seeing Eddie and Rose both moping around, auras blacker than a starless night, he should show Eddie the video. Eddie has been traumatized by the violent death of his best friend. He's quieter and has a seriousness to him that wasn't there before. After seeing the video, and remembering the times he had with Mason, he realizes that Mason wouldn't want him to be so down in the dumps.
Mourn, yes. Completely destroy yourself? No. Eddie isn't healed from the trauma of Mason's death or his own kidnapping by a long shot, but he's on the way to recovery. That's what Adrian noticed. It made him happy to have been able to help someone, because that's really all he wants. He's more fleshed out in Bloodlines, but it's all there in VA if you look. I think he wanted to find a way to help someone without using magic.
But, that's just me. What are your thoughts?
