"We knew the world would not be the same."

The ocean seemed unusually turbulent today, the BLU Sniper mused as he stood near the edge of a cliff, observing the currents through his scope. As he was about to return to his van for a well-needed afternoon nap, a gigantic tidal wave caught his eye. It was closing in fast towards the coast...

"A few people cried, most people were silent."

Jagged, maple leaf-shaped rocks cut the water's surface as the wave made its way inland, uprooting trees and turning the once serene beach into a wasteland. RED Scout was sprinting back towards the base to send a warning to his teammates; he looked back momentarily - only to make the horrifying discovery that the "rocks" were actually the dorsal fins of a colossal sea creature...

"I remembered the line from the Hindu scripture..."

"Mother o' mercy..." whispered the BLU Demoman as his teammates scrambled into Sniper's van, ready to evacuate. Trembling in fear, the one-eyed African-Scotsman pointed a shaking finger at the sea monster, which had just stepped foot on the devastated coast. As Soldier barked orders at his men and Engineer hurriedly tried to build a sentry on top of the vehicle, the dinosaurian creature looked up at the grey skies and opened its large maw...

"Vishnu... takes on his multi-armed form and says..."

"SHHHRRRRREEEEEOOONNNKKKKKK!"

It was a horrifying sound that will be etched in the mercenaries' memories forever.

"'Now I am become death, the destroyer of worlds.'"

"Oh my God... Pyro, what happened?" Miss Pauling cried out in alarm as the rubber-suited mercenary stumbled towards her. In contrast to the well-dressed young lady, the RED Pyro looked like a mess - its uniform was torn in many places, red stains covered its gas mask, and blood leaked out from cuts all over its arms and legs. Wheezing heavily, it latched onto Pauling's shoulders, the blank, emotionless optical lenses meeting her brown eyes. Slowly, Pyro removed the mask... All it could mutter was a single word that shook Pauling to the core...

"Gojira."
