I had an idea the other night!
What if Billy is a dick for reasons other than just his dad?
People usually write about it all being Neil's fault, or some kind of assault by some random person. Sometimes he gets beaten, other times sexually assaulted (usually just mentioned and not detailed, and that's mostly in the Harringrove fics that I love so fucking much), 90% of the time it's mixed with some dead mom stuff too.
It always unhinges him slightly, if not fully.
But I came up with:
PTSD/Anger Issues after having been possessed by an Evil Spirit or Demon, along with Neil being a piece of absolute shit all the time, and maybe some baggage from stuff he's repressed over the years.
Also, I don't know if anyone reading this knows of me and my fics, but I've noticed that I have a bit of an obsession with Supernatural/Stranger Things crossover fics. I'm just no good at writing the Winchesters, like at all, I swear. So I end up writing OC's instead.
It's half because I'm useless at writing Sam and Dean, but also half because they were non-hunter/freshly informed of monster-kind kids in the 1980's.
Like, the night Will disappeared was only a few days away from the night Mary Winchester died. So there's that too.
And I suck at writing Angel Time Travel. Time Travel in general, actually.
Trust me, I've tried many times.
